This advent calendar is a nice alternative to the usual candy-a-day ones. Each day you get a little set of snap together blocks that form a Christmas-themed ornament. There are instructions with each set of blocks, which are usually pretty easy to figure out. This was a fun activity for my adult kids leading up to Christmas
